Students and staff delivered another fantastic day for the community with TA’s Field Day 2012 on Saturday September 22nd.
Visitors experienced a wealth of amazing activities organised and delivered by students.
Students exemplified the Academy’s enterprise culture, illustrating key skills of organisation, teamwork, money management and a Can Do attitude!
Over 700 visitors had a great time in Tin Can Alley, face painting, hunting for dinosaurs, singing karaoke amongst other things, as well as being entertained by a puppet show written, produced and delivered by some of our year 8 students and a Thornaby’s Got Talent show that proved a big hit with the crowds.
A range of quality goods such as keyrings, placemats and door hangers were manufactured and sold by students, gaining some enthusiastic responses from the public.
On the field, fairground and inflatable attractions were supplemented by some tempting food and the ever popular ‘Splat the Teacher’
The crowds had chances to win some fantastic prizes donated by local businesses, including a signed Boro shirt, gym membership, pamper days and many more.
Before heading home, visitors sampled a range of delicious cup cakes, cookies and sweets, all made by our students and staff.
