A Vibrant Learning Environment
The facilities offered to students in the Academy are excellent. We have a range of vibrant learning spaces with break-out spaces attached to curriculum areas.
The Enhanced Mainstream School has excellent facilities for our learners with communication and language needs including a kitchen, sensory room and well-equipped social spaces. The Academy also boasts a fully-resourced Open Learning Centre for students to use during lessons to enhance learning as well as during social times and after school. The building is fully accessible to those with disabilities. We provide disabled parking spaces and access to disabled toilets within the building.
Students have access to up-to-date ICT facilities throughout the building including PC’s, Chromebooks and other portable devices.
Meals in the Academy are prepared by our catering team and served in our bright, airy dining space.
Community Facilities for Hire at Thornaby Academy
Here at Thornaby Academy, in the heart of the Thornaby community, we have a variety of rooms and facilities available to hire to meet the needs of a wide range of users.
The school’s facilities are available to hire in the evenings, weekends and during school holidays by contacting us on 01642 693830.
We have facilities for hire that are great for sport, dance, drama, martial arts, business meetings, events plus much more! Our building is fully accessible to those with disabilities and with free parking on site, we can also accommodate private functions, birthday parties, conferences and events at affordable, low cost prices.
Most of our facilities are available week days from 4.00 pm onwards and all day during school holiday periods and weekends.
So, whether you are looking for a home for your sporting club or regular 5-a-side football sessions, a great venue for an awards evening or somewhere to deliver adult learning courses, Thornaby Academy could be the answer.
